THE ''ISOLATION OF OUR LORD''

The “Isolation of Our Lord”:

That strange myth of suffering

From love for humanity – forlorn beings

Stubbing their toes in endless confusion

And self-destructive stupidity,

From the Trojan Wars to the Crucifixion

To all the other tragedies, - World  Wars One, Two, Three, Four:

It is the sense that we do not know

What we do, that draws compassion –

Thinking for Spring to come, -

Is necessary for millennia that human sacrifice

Is necessary for Spring to come,-

Even though there is such great capacity

For nastiness – due to millennia

Of evolutionary pressure upon human groups

That fought against others for survival:

The myth and hope that we could get beyond that

Is the real beacon light.
